This was a painting which I created after a visit to Horsey gap on the Suffolk coast. It’s part of my horizons of grief series which explores how my perception of landscape is altered by grief. This is version 1. I was sort of happy with it but I felt it wasn’t really working and there seem to be too many blocky sections. I wanted it more integrated.

← On this recent seascape I’ve been enjoying the impact of adding seemingly minute amounts of yellow ochre to clouds and sea . And here is the 2nd version of the same subject. Although it has gone rather extreme, I feel it is more representative of what I was trying to say in the painting than the previous version. I feel happier with this version. →
