Well, I can’t say I’m enamoured with the colours. I had a tube of Manganese blue lying around, and I couldn’t for the life of me get they greys I had in mind. I will say the painting experience itself was very gratifying…..so tactile. I think I took inspiration from a recent painting of yours that I was admiring Elizabeth as, quite unintentionally, a blue stroke appeared in a similar spot on the canvas…funny how these things go……

    That’s interesting Anna, I’ve never used manganese blue but it seems to have a definite greenish tinge (a bit like cerulean) which will affect all your mixes. Always useful to experiment with different blues (& other colours of course.) The paint is lovely and luscious, looks like you were using a knife – glad you enjoyed the experience of painting, that’s very important
