Here is Tuesday’s plein air at our local harbour. Its oils and size 14” x 10”, and a bit rough and ready. I was attracted by all the white timber railings, with the colourful boats standing up beyond. It is only a sketch, but I am not sure whether to tidy up the railings or leave them as they are?

Julian your image seems to have disappeared from the individual feedback section, very happy to do that if you’d like me to?

I completely agree with Karen – tidying up can risk losing the freshness of the painting. Sending you a more in -depth feedback shortly Julian

I like them as they are…I like the ‘unfinishedness’’ of them. It’s a painting that’s fresh. & lively & of the moment. I’m the same though, I can never revisit a final fiddle & faff to ‘tidy’ it…usually to the detriment of the painting!
