Here i was trying a sunset from my imagination and memory, I used to paint sunsets in real time in oils, starting 1/2 hour before and putting in the clouds and other marks, by estimating how dark it might get, then working furiously for another 1/2 hour or more, in the dark from memory of what just happened. So exciting and useful to do.
This one however, was from my imagination.

Nice work Julian and a lovely range of colours. I’d love to see one of your plein-air sunsets, as you say it’s quite a challenge to get everything down before it’s too dark to see – and of course it’s changing so fast!
