Caught sight of this ‘unfinished’ painting perched in the corner of my studio with a view to returning to it later. On second glance, I have decided that its finished!

Thanks for your feedback Rachel., much appreciated. I am liking your sliver of green sea on your latest painting . Very evocative – reminds me of Iona.

I like the sense of perspective in this that seems to draw you in. The reflections give interest in the foreground and set a tranquill atmosphere, whereas the sky has a shallow diagonal that provides a dynamic contrast. It feels fresh and alive to me – no need for more.

This is really useful feedback. Its fascinating to me to hear how this painting appears to be drawing intuitive responses , apparently on several different levels!

    Definitely agree this is finished

It almost like, at this moment in time, the work itself decides, No?

Yes I would agree Christopher, it has some lovely qualities. A great feeling of reflections from the warm ground showing through in the foreground. Sometimes we need to put paintings away for a bit before we can make a decision about them.

Its an education to see what effects the ground is having – almost in hidden ways that one may not be fully aware of! Thanks for sharing.
