I am working on a value study for the painting of the breakfast scene. Instead of continuing to work on the large painting, I want to start a smaller study/copy and test out changes. I want to focus on compressing the value scale and limit the color palette. I hope this can help harmonize the design. I have compressed the image into only three values and I want to try to not go to dark in the darkest darks and rather try to make the shadows interesting in a way. In other words…. I have a lot of work to do 🙂
