    I really like the painterliness on this one Anne – & the other two drawings work well, it’s good to experiment with different media. As you say it’s hard not to copy if you’re working on a transcription. In some cases a close copy might be what you’re aiming for, trying to understand exactly how the image was put together. Or you could not look at the Joan Eardley image while you’re painting & see it purely as a jumping off point, so your own work might go off in quite a different direction…
