My effort at transcribing a section of Monet Wisteria painting. In the spirit of Monet I painted over an earlier painting some of which is still visible. The painting underneath was an earlier attempt last year to copy his Waterlilies palette. I just set out the pure colours and mixed as I went along for 20 mins.

Glorious colours!
Thank you Camilla and Louise. Of course I didn’t stop there … A hypnotic right brain activity and fun to do. I read that in later years Monet worked with pure colour from the tube and a large amount of white in the middle
I agree Camilla, a lovely rich surface – it looks like you really enjoyed making it. I don’t know that Finnish painter, will check him out
This is absolutely beautiful Elizabeth, it remind me bit of a Finnish painter, Roy Aurinko’s work,, Well done!
