Palette knife/acrylic….. Louise Balaam - Monthly Landscape Painting Palette knife/acrylic….. Skills Posted on April 2, 2024 ← On vacation in Arizona with a completely different landscape. I was here last year and couldn’t draw at all-only look. Now making some first attempts. I know i should have been cleaning up builder dust, but i mentioned that i needed to ‘do homework’ & suddenly I had a couple fo hours to play at being Joan Eardley. Fascinating studying her pastel works & looking closely at her mark making. These were all made with Sennelier pastels ( fun but sooo messy – the kitchen was covered with a glorious riot of mutilcoloured dust! These were fun – making coloured scribbles, spreading it with fingers, wiping some off with kitchen paper, adding more marks. I love her work…what energy she gets into her paintings! I’ll do more over the next few weeks to look deeper into her work →
