Right brain exercise. Very fast painting in oil on paper. Standing up using a knife which I don’t often use. Time limit of 5 minutes. I noticed right at the end when I started to actually think again. Really interesting!

PS I like your comment about suddenly being aware of thinking again – that’s when you’re coming out of the right-brain mode, & it’s so important to become aware of when this happens
It’s funny how I’ve never noticed it before and this time it went off like an alarm bell.
Really fascinating! I’m looking forward to creating this way in the future, maybe returning to add layers to some.

Bravo Emma! It looks to me as if all the things you mention – right brain, standing up, using a palette knife & limiting your time have all worked together to create a very strong and expressive image with lots of visual interest. Very effective control of tone too, which has happened intuitively- shows how important it is to trust the process!
