← Visiting family. trees in the yard. hot and sunny First time posting, so here goes. Thank you Louise for putting together this course and for reminding me how much I admire the work of Joan Eardley. I love the freedom, movement, energy and spontaneity of sketching, be it plein air or done indoors, and have loved using a more limited earthy palette. I am working towards trying to capture the essence of the sketches in the painting , most of which are primarily oils on canvas with added mixed media. The sketches are taken from local walks in North Hampshire, UK. →

Very nice gestural sketches Rachel, is it watercolour? Gouache? You’re getting some good strong colours
