Sitting by the edge of the pond with moorhen pottering in the rushes.. cooler very early morning. I tried acrylic this time as I wasn't far from the house so could take a few more tubes with me. It’s so interesting playing with these different media for sketching moments…Im hoping that all of this will help develop my painting with oils when I get back to them. More freedom & looseness. – I can hope anyway!

Louise Balaam - Monthly Landscape Painting
This is really nice Karen, particularly the foreground – a lovely range of marks and also different shades of green which creates a really effective atmosphere. The sky looks a little neglected, maybe some of the green would help to tie it in to the rest of the painting.
Experimenting with different media is always very helpful, it encourages different ways of working & will all feed back into your work with oils.
