← Here is a recent oil sketch size 10” x 8” of a threatening sky over the breakwaters at Ramsgate in Kent. I paint many of these and smaller size 6” x 8” in about an hour out doors. It’s now getting a bit too cold for plein air here, so will try to work up some larger works in the studio. Oil 50 x50. It is finished but maybe still too sketchy →

There’s a nice sense of rhythm in the cranes and the repeated reflections under the bridge – I like the way the tones and colours in the buildings are handled too
