← Colour experiment with watercolour trying to get maximum intensity by juxtaposing saturated / unsaturated / complementary colours. Just returned from a wet and windy week painting in Snowdonia with 60 fellow artists. Here is my rendition of the fast flowing river at Betwys Y Coed, started in the rain, but warmed up later. Again energy and rapid movement is what I tried to portray. Loved the Rhodedendrons on the far bank. Size 12” x 10” 2 hours approx. →

A lovely pair of sketches Elizabeth- I particularly like the way the red and green contrast in this one, and the diagonals in the composition give a feeling of liveliness too
