A fun half an hour with 5 yr old grandson helping me sketch the morning light over the fields. We’ve both decided that we like gouache paint even though it dries in a heartbeat on the end of palette knife – dipping the knife in the river water helped apparently ( we got very wet & splattered with morning sparkle). I think I might do a lot more one-eyed collaborating with him over the holidays

The gouache sounds fun & great to collaborate with your grandson. This feels a bit jumpy, the boundaries between each area of colour are quite chunky – makes it feel more abstract I think
It was really interesting hearing him notice the birds sing, the breeze blustering the clouds, the sounds of leaves & water, the buzz of so many grasshoppers & the curiosity of the damsel flies….a fabulous time
