And another Joan Eardley inspired sketch with acrylic and dry pastel…the view through the hedge over the rapeseed to the mountains the more I look at her works the more I love them. I’m off to play with oil paint later today!

← A Joan Eardley inspired sketch of my view from the kitchen garden…where I sketch a lot. This time using neopastel ll water soluble pastels, wet brush followed by dry pastel for detail. As much as I love the Sennelier pastels the thought of having to carry fixative everywhere was a bit depressing!! The neopastel was lovely to use. And I love Joan Eardley. So, here it is, posted after a lot of dithering. The first attempt at oil paints – the dark rain shower over the ploughed fields. Hmmm, the mud of the fields was easy to make!! How many brushes do you need to use? I suppose one for each colour? I didn’t mix up enough paint, I didn’t have enough brushes, there are a lot of other didn’ts & oh dears, but I really enjoyed this. →
