So, here it is, posted after a lot of dithering. The first attempt at oil paints – the dark rain shower over the ploughed fields. Hmmm, the mud of the fields was easy to make!! How many brushes do you need to use? I suppose one for each colour? I didn't mix up enough paint, I didn’t have enough brushes, there are a lot of other didn’ts & oh dears, but I really enjoyed this.

Glad you enjoyed the process Karen & thanks for sharing! There’s a nice strong composition and the colours are very harmonious. I like the lighter area of sky just above the horizon. I tend to use one brush (or sometimes more than one) for each colour so I don’t have to stop too soon & remix. Having said that I do usually end up getting into a muddy mess and having to reset and scrape off the palette. No-one (including me) ever mixes up enough paint, so that’s a useful learning…
