Couldn’t be bothered to wait for the rain, thunder, hail to stop so braved the fields taking gouache paints with me to play with, oh and wellie boots & waterproofs. I haven’t tried gouache paint outside before, hmmm, they dried rather rapidly despite the dampness of the day…but anyway here’s the resultant sketch of the every-weather-possible day

Nice idea to try painting outside with gouache Karen – they do dry quickly but you’ve got some nice fluid feeling in the brushstrokes. Nice composition and I like the way you’ve put sky colours in the land and vice versa. Watch out for strength of blue in the sky, it can become quite dominant
