Here's a sketch I did using different materials than I usually do – watercolour, gouache, pencil, crayon & pen.

The black, finely drawn tree and twigs in the foreground make a stark, wintery contrast to the softer features and warmer colours in the middle ground. I like the interplay of verticals and hoizontals. The Z-shaped pattern in the middle ground leads the eye nicely to the horizon, relecting the cool blue of the sky on the way. I wonder whether the trees on the distant horizon could be differentiated tonally or colour-wise a little more from those of the foreground? Perhaps a tinge of purple or dark blue to contribute to perspective?
