I’m enjoying the energy and vitality of these three abstract pieces. They speak to me of the sea, the salt air and the wind. The limited palette works very well and the brush marks are so varied and interesting. I think the third, more abstract one, works very well. I also try to paint very fast to see what happens when there is no time to think. That seems to me to be when the essence of a place and its memories come through, as it does here. All three pictures look organic, as if they came together all at once. That’s so satisfying.
