← I made a quick charcoal sketch, then spread the material with a damp sponge to achieve expressive marks. Here is my latest watercolour, I’m still trying to paint from memory and imagination, rather than from life. Had fun with colour in this one, starting with a vague idea and a quick sketch, I’m quite pleased with the result. I will do February’s excercise when I get my oils out again in March. →

A nice turbulent feeling with those marks Maura! Gouache is fun to use & works well for sketching too
